Here is how it works: the caffeine in coffee dilates the blood vessels underneath the skin to give a temporary tightening and toning effect in the tissues in our bodies. Being a stimulant, coffee also helps to increase blood circulation and reduce water retention. Both of these benefits help to temporarily smooth out the skin in areas affected by cellulite.

how to apply cellulite coffee scrubsOnce you have mixed your coffee scrub, it is time to put it to good use. Wash the area you would like to use the coffee scrub on, then take a small handful and rub it into the skin for up to 2 minutes. The massage will help improve circulation while the skin absorbs the nutrients and caffeine from the coffee mixture. Once you have massaged the desired area with the coffee rub, let it sit on the skin for about ten minutes.

The coffee grounds will help create faster blood flow to the surface of the affected area, which will lessen fat deposits over time.  The salt acts as an exfoliator, while the oil hydrates the skin and bonds the mixture together. After ten minutes, simply wash the coffee scrub off with warm water, pat dry and apply your moisturizer as you normally would.

While a coffee scrub may not completely eliminate all cellulite, it can dramatically reduce lumps and dimples. This is a great trick for getting your body ready for bathing suit season, or any other occasion where you might want to show a little more skin than usual! It is safe to use this coffee scrub daily if you choose.
